People from Chicago pride themselves on being tough for dealing with miserably cold conditions every winter in the city. This Cubbies giveaway should help a little with the cold come fall and winter time(and it’s gonna be a cold one this year if the Cubs miss the playoffs with the crop of young studs taking the field at Wrigley). The Cubs winter aviator bear skin hat takes the crown as the best giveaway on the Northside for 2015!

One of our easiest picks right here. The R2D2 Star Wars bobblehead is pretty cool and we know everyone loves
their Star Wars nights. However, we decided to go with historical significance over science-fiction and select the Nasty Boys triple bobblehead. First, it’s a triple bobblehead…that’s just straight crazy. Second, the Nasty Boys (Randy Myers, Rob Dibble and Norm Charlton) were a trio of relief pitchers whose efforts were pivotal in the Reds run up to, and sweep of the Athletics to win the 1990 World Series Championship.

Milwaukee Brewers
We don’t know how we feel about this pick, but we made it anyway. The Brew Crew are known 
for having some great giveaways and this year is no different. From a Star Wars night featuring a Jedi Jonathan Lucroy bobblehead to a Hank T. Dog, Mother’s Day bobble-Hank…there’s clearly a lot to pick from here. Ultimately, and with some apprehension, we went with their Bud Selig bobblehead. MLB commissioner for damn near 20 years, no single man has seemingly had as much of an influence on the direction the game has taken in recent memory. If you look at player salaries, franchise values and annual earnings, and other metrics of the like; it’s hard to criticize the man. Credit must be given where credit is due. But at the same time there is not a baseball fan in the world who doubts this man willingly turned a blind eye to the steroid era while it was occurring and shares much of the blame for the black-eye it was on the sport. All that being said, we picked the Selig bobble for nothing else than the fact that his contributions and the debate surrounding his tenure will swirl for a very long time.

Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates give a lot of uniquely inspired items away every year. 
This year our choice was between some very snazzy McCutchen socks (no joke, lookthem up!) and a patriotic military style Gerrit Cole camo kids jersey. We are saving our best socks pick for another team…so we went with the Gerrit Cole camo style jersey. Baseball is America’s past-time and it’s always a special occasion when teams pay tribute to our servicemen and women. Remember this is another kids giveaway, so bring the little grubs along to cash in!

St. Louis Cardinals
With how good this franchise has been over the past decade, their fans must feel like it is Christmas in October come post-season every year. This season the Cardinals will be celebrating Christmas in July with a really nice giveaway item. Santa Claus Freebird mascot snow globes will be distributed to fans who purchase a special event ticket. The minor league franchises have done a bunch of Christmas in July promotions in the past few years. (Ugliest Jersey in Baseball) It’s nice to see a good one up in the MLB in 2015.
