Toledo Mudhens – Justin Verlander “PreHENstoric” Bobblehead

I am sure the Toledo Mudhens were just trying to capitalize on the Jurassic World movie return last year with their homage to dinosaurs in the form of a “PreHENstoric” Justin Verlander bobblehead. However, we like to think a bit of coincidence and symbolism has unwittingly unfolded by way of this bobblehead concept as well. For the past few seasons it had appeared Verlander himself had become a dinosaur. Incapable of putting up numbers anywhere near his glory days; he simply was a beast from another time, on display every week for the public, but nothing close to his former glory. All that has changed in 2016. Like the mighty T-Rex escaped from it’s paddock, Verlander has stormed the diamond this year and is proving he is still an apex predator on the mount. Movie reference and the coincidental, symbolism drenched theme duly noted, we also must say this is a very nice looking bobblehead to boot and a MUST have!

Check out his stats over the past 3 seasons where had fell off due to injuries and general loss of control and velocity…and compare them to this year. He’s back on pace to break 200 IP, put up a sparkling low 3.’s ERA, rack up well north of 200ks, and even post a sub 1.0 WHIP! His decline was fast and as time has now revealed, only temporary as he roars back to dominance!
