If you attend the Cardinals game tonight you’re in for a treat (or two, or three…).  First, regular admission tickets will score you a St. Louis Cardinals tote bag.  These are the reusable grocery bags a lot of teams give out each year.   Beyond that, there are two special ticketholder only giveaways tonight.  If you purchase a Budwiser Bash special ticket you get a Bobby Cox mini-bobblehead in addition to your tote bag.  If you purchase a Superhero Night special ticket you will get a SuperFred mascot bobblehead (full size we believe).

So if you want to maximize your score here, you’re going to have to bring the family/friends and buy a variety of tickets.  Unless you want to buy multiple tickets for yourself and drive up the cost of obtaining these nice SGAs.

” Bud Selig: Hero or Villain? “

Milwaukee Brewers – Bud Selig Bobblehead

Love him or hate him, Bud Selig has a legacy.  Is he the guy who presided over the league during a disgraceful strike and cancelled post-season; while turning a blind eye to the Steroid Era?  Or is he the guy who held the reins of MLB during its rise to our current record level revenues and profits?  Was he good or bad for baseball?  It all really is a matter of personal opinion these days and likely to remain for some time.  All told his legacy will be one of extremes.  There is no doubt with the rise in popularity of the NFL that the MLB has struggled in recent decades to keep and build a fan base.  But at the same time, players are making more money than ever (we like the people in the trenches getting their fair slice of the pie); along with record league revenues and profits.  We have seen video replay trickle into the league with pretty effective results and without much controversy.  All in all, books will (probably have already) be written to dissect the tenure of Bud Selig as Commissioner of Baseball.  In the meantime enjoy this nice Bud Selig bobblehead SGA with the Brewers today.  It’s safe to say there aren’t too many Commissioner bobbleheads out there so.  It’s a unique enough concept and we can appreciate it.

There are way too many SGAs today to make any sort of truly objective pick for the day’s best…so we are going to cheat and just go outside the realm of sports and pick the Hollywood favorite Goonies bobblehead (belly actually!) Of all the items today we think this will carry the most appeal since it crosses a lot of hobby areas.  You have SGA fans, Goonies fans, cinema fans, and bobblehead fans all chasing after this one.  It’s the 30th anniversary of the release of Goonies if you were wondering why the heck an MiLB team is making a bobble of one of the characters from the movie.  A bunch of teams are doing similar anniversary events; with the Potomac Nationals even doing a One-Eyed Willie bobblehead later this year!  So check out the insanely impressive list of SGAs below, that does include more bobbleheads and replica jerseys than we care to count right now.  But keep an eye out for this Truffle Shuffle Bobble-Belly because it is today’s cream of the crop pick!

If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to attend a no-hitter in your life, then you know how exciting it is.  The tradition of “don’t you dare even bring it up” as the event is unfolding is a suspense filled ritual that makes the final out of a no-hitter all the more climatic.  Now imagine you are lucky enough to have the chance to see 2 no-hitters in the same season by your home team.  Dodgers fans were blessed with this absurdly rare occurrence last season.  This bobblehead commemorates that feat by Clayton Kershaw and Josh Beckett.  It’s a great SGA item and a must have for any die-hard MLB fan’s collection.

One of the coolest things about the MLB is the players and their personalities.  Jokes and antics are just part of the culture of the sport that no other professional sport seems to match.  That being said, we love the tribute SGAs to some of the more colorful player shenanigans that unfold annually.  Today the Oakland Athletics are giving out a really nice Stephen Vogt talking referee bobblehead.  If you don’t get the reference, just watch the clip below.  It’s cool, weird, and unique stuff like this that makes for legendary SGA items.  Great call by the Athletics promotional department to come up with this concept piece!

If you’re asking who the heck the Kenosha Kingfish are, you probably aren’t alone.  They hail from the Northwoods League.  Which is described as a collegiate summer baseball league comprised of some of the top college players in North America (and beyond!).  The season for most Northwoods League teams is just kicking off and much to our gratitude, many of them have excellent SGA lineups all summer long!

Kenosha Kingfish lead the way with a seemingly endless schedule of bobblehead giveaways.  Starting off today with their Zip Line Elvis bobblehead.  It’s a fish.  It’s Elvis.  It’s zip line themed for whatever reason?!?  Bottom line is it is a pretty cool bobblehead.
