Everybody loves to talk about Mike Trout and Bryce Harper as the insanely talented young studs lighting up the Majors right now. But lost in this discussion is the equally, if not more impressive Nolan Arenado. Read this article to educate yourselfon why Arenado deserves at least as much, if not more respect in many regards than the two household names of Trout and Harper.
This is a great bobblehead; highlighting the defensive prowess of what may easily be considered the best 3B in the MLB right now. Some even speculate he could rank as one of the best at that position all time if his career stays on track.

There’s a lot of good sga items out today but we had to tip our hats to the Kingsport Mets and this real nice looking Jacob deGrom bobblehead. If you haven’t paid attention this season, then you might not realize what is happening with the New York Mets starting rotation is almost unreal. Adding to the already amazing Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom from last year, we have seen the rise of Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz. This rotation has the potential to be dominant all the way down to their 4th pitcher. That is the stuff World Series teams are built on. That being said…their offense has holes like a wheel of Swiss cheese so, we will temper down our excitement overall. But the starting rotation; any baseball fan can’t help but marvel with jealousy at what’s happening there for the Mets. We like this deGrom and we are looking forward to a Syndergaard and Matz next year (which we know the Mets or their affiliates will accomidate us with!). Or even better, we really want to see a 4-player bobble with all these guys. Akin to the Phillies 4-Aces bobblehead that came out a few years back for group ticket leaders; featuring Hamels, Halladay, Oswalt, and Lee.
We have some cross-over sports sga action today for you. The Lowell Spinners are paying tribute to Keith Aucion today with a nice bobblehead. Aucion was raised in Massachusetts (if you’re wondering why a Red Sox affiliate is tipping their caps to him). Aucoin spent four seasons with Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, before turning pro in 2001.
Aucoin made his NHL debut during the 2005–06 NHL season with the Carolina Hurricanes. It was at the end of this season that he was a member of the “Black Aces,” a group of players kept on the roster as healthy scratches for the Hurricanes’ playoff run that ended with the Hurricanes being crowned Stanley Cup champions. Aucoin did not have his name added to the cup, as he did not play in any of the playoff games, but can be seen on the ice during the celebration and did receive a Championship Ring. He would go on to play 53 regular season games for the Hurricanes over three seasons, scoring 5 goals and 15 points. (Wikipedia 2015)

There are only 3 sgas coming out today worth noting. Of them, the Portland Sea Dogs Henry Owens bobblehead was our favorite. Owens is currently the Boston Red Sox #1 pitching prospect in the minor leagues. They selected him in the 1st round (36th overall) of the 2011 MLB draft. He has had his ups and downs, as evident by the fact that he has yet to be called up and stick in the Majors yet. But he has turned it around recently. The 22-year-old has posted a stellar 2.39 ERA over his last four starts and now ranks sixth in the International League with 69 strikeouts. Owens also leads the league with 48 walks, a number he’ll have to cut down on if he wants to make the big leagues.
As part of family day at the ballpark, free poster to kids 14 and younger. Collect every poster in the series throughout the season!

Baltimore native Babe Ruth signed his first professional baseball contract with the minor league Baltimore Orioles of the International League in 1914. Ruth pitched for the Orioles for a few months before financial difficulties caused by the arrival of the Federal League’s Baltimore Terrapins forced Orioles owner Jack Dunn to sell Ruth to the American League’s Boston Red Sox.
The Bowie Baysox don’t want you to forget Ruth’s brief stint in Baltimore. In partnership with the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, the Class AA affiliate of the Orioles will give out bobbleheads of the legend wearing his 1914 Baltimore minor league jersey to the first 1,000 fans ages 13 and older on July 19.
The Ruth bobblehead giveaway is among the highlights of the Baysox’s promotional schedule, which also includes a Touch-A-Truck event on May 30. The Eastern League’s Portland Sea Dogsgave out bobbleheads of Ruth in a Red Sox jersey in 2005 after Boston broke the “Curse of the Bambino” the previous season.
