The Minor Leagues are filled with fun team names and logos and the Biloxi Shuckers are near the top of that list in our opinion.  At tonight’s game the first 1,000 fans through the gates get a free Shuckers baseball cap.  It’s a pretty stylish one too as far as SGA caps go.  So if you’re near the stadium tonight, stop on by for some free fan gear!

Living in South Florida, it’s hard to believe at this time in the year it’s still damn near freezing in some parts of the U.S.  South Bend, Indiana being one of those places.  With temperatures dipping as low as the 30s at night this week, fans of the South Bend Cubs are really going to appreciate tonight’s SGA fleece blanket.

  “ Tie Goes to the Desktop Scoreboard Clock and the Bobblehead! ”

We could not decide, so we picked two SGAs of the Day today.  First off, we like the Charlotte Knights ballpark scoreboard desktop clock a lot.  This is unique and not the type of promo you find being given out around the MiLB or MLB everyday.  It is functional.  Who wouldn’t love one of these on their desk at home or work?  Lastly, it’s just plain awesome.  High praise for the Knights promos and marketing people on this fantastic SGA!

All that being said…we also have a Mookie Betts falling over the centerfield wall in Fenway to rob Jose Abreau of a homerun bobblehead.  Can it get any better than that?!?  Well…yes, the White Sox had a 3 run lead at the time and would go on to win the game 9-5.  BUT STILL…result of the game aside, this was still a great catch and a memorable moment from the 2015 season. Anytime someone steals a homerun and falls over the outfield wall (something barely possible in most MLB stadiums), it’s gonna garner some attention.  The Red Sox decided to immortalize the moment with a very cool bobblehead.

Tampa Bay Rays – Kevin Kiermaier Platinum Glove Bobblehead

The Tampa Bay Rays will honor Kevin Kiermaier’s 2015 Platinum Glove Award with a pair of premium promotional items for fans on the first home weekend of the season. These unique collectibles are among 24 items on the Rays 2016 promotional schedule, all slated for weekend home dates.

All fans today will receive a special Kevin Kiermaier Platinum Glove Bobblehead presented by DEX Imaging.  Kiermaier will be receiving his Rawlings Platinum Glove Award, which recognizes the best overall defensive player in both the American and National Leagues, from Rawlings officials prior to the Rays-White Sox game at Tropicana Field.

The following day, Sunday, April 17, all kids 14 and under will receive a Kevin Kiermaier Glove presented by the Florida Division of Emergency Management. (check tomorrow’s rundown!)

St. Louis Cardinals – Replica Busch Stadium III with Lights

It’s mini-replica stadium day with the St. Louis Cardinals.  These SGAs have caught on a little bit across the MLB and MiLB lately.  There have been on average just over a half dozen or so per season in recent years.  We expect there to be an uptick in the coming years.  They are pretty nice pieces for display purposes for any collector.  Next to bobbleheads, we think these actually tend to be the most attractive SGAs in terms of luring people to the park.  This replica Busch Stadium has the added feature of functioning lights.  A twist on the replica stadium that will only increase with time and the continued advent of  cheap LEDs.  What’s next in the SGA replica stadium world?  Perhaps ones that have a sound chip in them that plays the National Anthem or Take Me Out To The Ballgame?
